There was much publicity in the media about ‘No Fault Divorce’ and some clients thought after reading the papers that this was now the law in England. Unfortunately in England, the archaic procedure is still continuing and couples continue to use the other party’s behaviour as one of the reasons for divorce. The ‘No Fault Divorce’ system’ is not up and running yet in England.
If people want change, ahead of the elections, they need to approach their local parliamentary candidate and to ask that they advocate supporting much needed family law reform in England in the next Parliament. This would include making Divorce less confrontational, if there was a ‘no fault’ divorce system. The organisation ‘Resolution’ has published ‘Resolution’s Fairness for Families Manifesto’
